Sister Arthur

Focus on the Why of the Gospel
Why does Heavenly Father ask us to take on the (sacrament) covenants?
In service we represent the Father

Receiving the Holy Ghost
Helps us discern between the "giving" principle of the Gospel and the "taking" of the world
Personal revelation to help others

Becoming a member of the Church
Organization of the Relief Society
Using our natural inclination as women of being compassionate
Praying to ask for inspiration
First, compassion and service in your own homes

We don't need to handle helping others on our own...ward sisters
Relief Society is a circle of love
Relief Society is a protective wall

A Worldwide Sisterhood of Love

"This great circle of sisters will be a protection for each of you and for your families.  The Relief Society might be likened to a refuge--the place of safety and protection--the sanctuary of ancient times. You will be safe within it. It encircles each sister like a protecting wall."
President Boyd K. Packer

Have great people who can "block" for us as we gain our testimony

Chapter 2 from "Daughters In My Kingdom."
First, seek our own salvation
Be at peace and harmony with each other-no strife among each other, love of God
Caution about sisters envying the church positions of other
Love within our own heart; love for each other and God

Notes from the chapter-experiences from sisters in the early days of the Relief Society
